Spartakiade can do a testing sessions for your club. Testing must take place under proper testing conditions so the numbers can be compared to professional and historical numbers. Our testing protocol and base test numbers are applicable to rugby league, rugby, soccer, basketball, and netball. If your club or school is interested in implementing a testing programme contact us at info@spartakiade.co.nz and we can talk you through the process.
If it was me, and I was charged with implementing a performance program for a club or team, I would test twice a year; once at the end of the playing season and once at the start. Because you will get progressively worse physically over the length of the playing season the off-season is where you will make most of your gains in strength, speed, and stamina. Testing at the end of the playing season gives a start point for off-season workouts – where players are at and some of their strengths and weaknesses. Testing at the start of the season should show the gains the players have made and therefore the effectiveness of the off-season workout programme. If there were no gains, there needs to be an immediate evaluation of the off-season workout programme so the same mistakes don’t get made the next off-season and you don’t waste your time and money. |
